Dear St John Family,

After much prayer, reflection, and conversations with my family, I have made the decision to retire as your Senior Pastor at the end of 2028, concluding more than 35 years of serving this incredible church family. Please know that this decision is not the result of a crisis, conflict, disappointment, or health concern. Rather, I believe God is leading me into a new season that will allow me to spend more time with 1^st Lady Kim and our two young adult children while continuing to serve St John faithfully through the end of 2028.

Thank you for your love, prayers, trust, and partnership over these many years. I ask that you continue to pray for our church, our leaders, Kim and me, and our family as we walk through this transition together. I will share more information at our Virtual Mid-Year Congregational Meeting this Saturday at 10:00 a.m., where a proposed two-and-a-half-year transition plan will be presented for your review and approval. I love you deeply, and it remains one of the greatest honors of my life to serve as your Senior Pastor as, together, we get ready for God’s next.
